🚓 Enhancing Road Safety: Tukums Municipality Police Begins Speed Monitoring!
In a significant step toward improving traffic safety, Tukums Municipality Police has officially started speed monitoring within the region.
📅 Since mid-2023, Latvian municipal police forces have been granted the authority to monitor vehicle speeds and take action against offenders. Previously, speed-related complaints from Tukums residents had to be forwarded to the State Police, often leading to delayed response times.
💡 Recognizing the need for faster and more efficient enforcement, Tukums Municipality Police, in collaboration with the local government, reviewed its budget and allocated funds to equip one of its patrol vehicles with the Eunomia SM21 speed monitoring system.
🚔 Starting this February, Tukums Municipality Police will independently enforce speed limits, ensuring safer roads and a more responsive approach to traffic violations for the local community!
